    • Senior video leader and producer with deep expertise in both public service (BBC) and commercial (Mediaset) broadcast environments but also at ease with modern mobile filming kit.
    • Ability to choose and select the best kit, prepare colleagues for a shoot, but also to film, edit and post-produce a slick sequence quickly to demanding deadlines.

  • Fulfilled a long held ambition to improve my writing skills working for titles such as the Lincolnshire Echo, the Bath Chronicle, the Hull Daily Mail, Business Live and Lincolnshire Live.

Support Worker, Support Horizons, Wokingham, UK 2018 – 2021

  • Using my warm and disarming people skills to support and empower vulnerable people in the community, assessing their needs and helping them access care and medical services.

Technical Director, MEON HDTV Productions (Rome and Italy) 2008 – 2017

  • Developed historical documentary films.
  • Trained myself in cinematography and acquired skills to plan, record, film and edit high-quality video stories.
  • Led a team that performed archaeological research and field work in Italy; filming the ancient Roman aqueducts and Leonardo da Vinci's canal system around Milan.

Strategic Consultant, Mediaset Group (Milan) 2003 - 2005

  • I guided two projects concerned with the launch of Italian Digital Terrestrial Television: Italy's first Electronic Program Guide for DVB-T, and the effort to diversify revenue streams from advertising customers, focusing on viewer profiling and gathering of viewer behaviour data.
  • I was also a member, of the DGTVi team which wrote the Italian D-Book, standard for Italian Digital Terrestrial Television receivers, leveraging my knowledge of Digital Terrestrial Television from BBC Research and Development, and I am named in the first Italian D-Book as co-author and translator.

R&D Engineer, BBC Research and Development 1997 - 2002

Research and Development Department, Kingswood Warren, UK.

  • Trained as a Broadcast Engineer by the BBC, I was present at the launch of the first operative Digital Terrestrial TV service.
  • Over the course of five years I led some significant projects at BBC R&D such as certifying the BBC's web traffic, and a European project to standardise a new audio-video file format now used in TV Cameras and digital production.

  • Television Cameras: Highly proficient in filming, lighting, and sound recording using broadcast quality Full HD cameras (Sony PMW-200, PMW-EX1, PMW-EX3).
  • Disarming interview skills. Ability to put people at their ease.
  • Archaeology: Led specialist archaeological and archival research project based in Rome for 10 years involving networking, map-making, lighting underground spaces, filming.
